We employ the largest number of people at this site and we recruit additional seasonal staff during busy periods. The plant operates 24 hours and has three shift cycles, which means a variety of working patterns to suit you.

Mulrines Irish Orchards, Kildare

The farm in Kildare spans almost 300 acres across two sites. We mainly grow apples, 19 varieties in fact! The apples are harvested for use in our juice production plant. A love of the outdoors and hands on farming knowledge is required for working on the farm.

Our Current Vacancies

The role of Production Supervisor involves the management of all operations during shift, including production efficiency, hygiene, food safety, quality, people management and health and safety.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
• Efficient and effective management of pre-production materials supply – mixing and packing areas; ingredients and packaging.
• Management and planning of resources and subsequent attendance / absence / annual leave; return to work documentation.
• Management and prioritisation of mechanical / electrical breakdowns.
• Training, development and appraisal of employees including the documentation associated with these areas.
• Management of quality assurance throughout the mixing and production lines.
• Good Manufacturing Practice audit completion.
• Proper use and storage of PPE / chemicals.
• Maintain health, safety and hygiene standards in accordance with Company rules and regulations and maintain a high level of discipline.
• Clear knowledge and understanding of customer specifications.
• Achieve production targets; monitor and ensure correct completion of intake, production and downtime documentation;
• Management of non-conformance and subsequent addressing of same to ensure anything that can be reworked and or recycled is.
• General administration in relation to Accidents (Investigation & Witness Reports); Cleaning Documentation (Random Checks); CIP (Time, Temperature, Caustic %, PH etc); Glass Registers
(Highlight and damage to glass, Perspex, hard plastics and or ceramics);
• Any other request as deemed necessary

Job Description

The role of General Operative plays a vital part in the Production process within the plant. You will work on shift as part of a team to ensure that Production targets are met.

Role and Responsibilities include

Work along a production line in order to perform a specific task as required
Set up machines to commence a production cycle and adjust machines as required throughout shift (operating valves/pumps/control panels)
Liaise with team members at shift switchover in order to maintain smooth running of production
Checking integrity of raw materials prior to use
Feeding raw materials to machine as required, adhering to pre prescribed recipe’s and pre weighted raw materials
Communicate and work together with team members on the Production floor
Monitor and check finished goods to ensure they are compliant
Report any issues to Management to ensure swift action can be taken
Maintain activity logs, maintain hourly quality paperwork checks
Adhere to all Quality SOP’s and report any non-conformance issues to Manager
Report any maintenance or servicing issues to Manager
Responsible for all cleaning and sterilizing of machine/equipment and Production area

The role of Quality Manager is to manage the overall Quality function of the business. The Quality Manager is directly responsible for ensuring customer and legislative requirements are met and managed. The Quality Manager is directly responsible for ensuring the manufacture of a quality product in conjunction with various food manufacturing standards, particularly BRC Global Standard for Food Safety.

Role and Responsibilities include

Overall responsibility for HACCP, being a HACCP Team Leader, HAACP Reviews as per agreed schedule, Management of HACCP Manual contents, Issuing of signed and verified plans and flow charts to production floor
Management of hygiene
Audits, cleaning schedules and subsequent management of high, medium and low risk areas

Glass audits
Create daily and weekly non-conformance reports; Manage non-conforming product.
Liaise with QA’s regarding problems / issues on the production floor as well as manage annual leave / sickness / holiday cover / maternity leave etc.
Traceability procedures and management of same – Raw Materials; Packaging; Finished Product
Lead Customer, EHO & BRC audits ownership and corrective action based on root cause analysis
Point of contact for EHO
Point of contact for Pest Control Biologist and Technician visits
Liaise with production and maintenance regarding improvement list
Management of all operator training folders – liaise with production on same
Supplier approval and maintenance of same
Company lead in incorporating changes required due to system changes or process changes on the production floor.
Weekly management meetings. Provide KPI information to Production Admin Assistant and ensure minutes are available for review during audits / visits
Annual Quality Management review, create & ensure minutes are available
Lead and document mock trial recall and subsequent timings
Liaise and be point of contact for customers should there be a quality problem or if a complaint escalates.
Ensure TACCP / VACCP is up to date and reviewed where necessary
Management of Chemical Supplier Visits – subsequently ensuring that all chemicals are labelled and stored appropriately
Overseeing of CIP – Tanks, Pasteurisers and Fillers
Any other ad hoc duties as required
